Two Events & Plenty of Fun!
The Hartford Conservation and Gun Club’s 17th Annual Gene Johann Memorial "Shoot for a Cure" pledged trap shoot promises to be a weekend of celebration for everyone supporting pediatric cancer research. The event began as a tribute to a club member who lost a two year battle with colon cancer in 1990, and has developed into a remarkable weekend of sportsmanship, camaraderie and fun. To date, the event has raised nearly $800,000 for Women for MACC in support of the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer).
The weekend essentially breaks down into 2 events:
A corporate patron invitational on Saturday kicks off the weekend’s activities, with the Club hosting five-person teams vying for first place.
Beginning Sunday morning, individual pledged trapshooters will again aim high to raise dollars to fund research.
A club team challenge, firefighters challenge and Celebrity /Youth Trap Shoot event take place in the afternoon.
The Perfect Family Event!
This is a family event, with games and a raffle especially geared to children. Throughout the day raffles and a silent auction geared to all ages will be held.

About Women for MACC
Women for MACC, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization made up of the mothers, siblings, relatives, and friends of children who battle cancer, and those whose lives were tragically cut short by this killer disease. The road toward a cure is a long one, but since our founding in 1982, we have contributed over $3 Million to the MACC Fund for crucial pediatric cancer research.
All proceeds from Women for MACC, Inc. fundraising events will go to the MACC Fund. The primary beneficiary of MACC Fund support is the Midwest Children’s Cancer Center with research conducted in the MACC Fund Research Center of The Medical College of Wisconsin. The MACC Fund also supports research at the Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
