14th Annual Shoot
for a Cure Takes Place Aug. 28-29!
The Hartford Conservation
and Gun Clubs (HCGC) 14th annual "Shoot for a Cure" pledged trap
shoot will take place the weekend of August 28th and 29th at the Gun Club. It
will once again be a weekend of
celebration
for everyone supporting pediatric cancer research. Named for a club member who
died in 1990, the Gene Johann Memorial Trap shoot and Picnic has raised over a
half million dollars to date.
How It Works
The weekend essentially breaks down
into 2 events ~ A corporate patron invitational on Saturday kicks off the weekends
activities, with the Club hosting five-person teams vying for first place. If
you know of a company or individual willing to sponsor a team, please call WMACC
Member Vickie Bence at (262) 567-5526 or Gary DeSmidt of the HCGC at (262) 673-9919.
New
to Saturday's festivities, the band Kopper Kreek will perform from 5:00 p.m.
9:00 p.m., on the Club grounds at 5160 E. Hwy. 60. This is open to the public
~ join us for a fun evening! Last year this exciting country band played on Sunday
during the Pledge and Youth events.
Beginning at about nine Sunday morning, individual pledged trap shooters will
again aim high to raise dollars to fund research. Corporate Youth teams (ages
12-18) will compete in a 25-bird event. Throughout the day raffles geared to all
ages, sought after silent auction offerings, and a grand raffle will be held.
Honorary chair Milwaukee Wave captain Michael King will be on hand, and will again
host the Celebrity Trap Shoot event in the afternoon. There will also be games
and a raffle especially geared to children. This is a wonderful event for the
entire family to attend.
Dont miss this special event, with "the Club with a Heart!"
